Fajolles [click to enlarge]Borde Basse is 10kms away from Beaumont-de-Lomagne, 8kms away from Lavit-de-Lomagne and 1½kms away from the tiny village of Fajolles, which has 86 inhabitants. The property is not overlooked by anyone and is surrounded by woods and fields on all sides. Visitors to the area love the sunflowers which turn the fields gold during July and August.
The Lomagne - the historic name for the area in which Fajolles is located - is truly part of Secret France which most tourists rarely discover. Lunch in Auvillar [click to enlarge]Pleasant local restaurants can be found in both Lavit and Beaumont - or even nearer in the village of Serignac. Each local village has a summer fête with small fun fairs, open-air dancing and live bands.
The Tarn & Garonne is one of the most important fruit-growing areas of France, and its delicious fresh peaches, nectarines, melons and cherries are all available in season. A little history
Named after the ancient beech forests which surrounded the village, Fajolles has been inhabited since Prehistoric times. From the 12th century until the Revolution, the village was home to a commanderie connected to the "Ordre de Malte".

Architecture
Château de Cadeilhan's 17th-century pigeonnier; neo-Gothic "Eglise St-Barthélemy" - significantly modified in 1765 and at the end of the 19th century.

Things to see
The valley of the River Sère; 50-hectare oak forest.

Village fête: third Sunday in August; fishing; marked walks.
